A Journey of
FAITH and OBEDIENCE
Kingdom Koinonia, a house church ministry, was born out of a deep desire to follow God wholeheartedly and to see His Kingdom advanced through authentic community, discipleship, and Spirit-led living.
In August 2021, Bernard and Christine sensed God’s leading to step away from their long-time ministry in a church where they had served faithfully since 2008. After much prayer, dialogue, and counsel, they shared this decision — not out of discontent, but out of conviction that God was calling them into a new season.
The disruptions brought by Covid-19 further clarified this call, revealing the need for a more flexible and Spirit-led expression of the Body of Christ.
Their hearts were stirred for Kingdom thinking, Church planting, and Life building — a vision of the Church that transcends walls and focuses on people transformed by the presence and power of God.
God inspired them to name the house church ministry Kingdom Koinonia — a name that reflects both God’s Kingdom and spiritual fellowship (koinonia) among His people.
The verse that anchors this calling comes from Matthew 6:33a.
“Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.”
From Home to Geylang
With that conviction, a small group of believers began gathering in Bernard and Christine’s home from 16 May 2022, seeking to love God deeply, love people genuinely, and live out the gospel in daily life.
As the fellowship grew in faith and in purpose, it became clear that the Lord was expanding the work. In October 2024, Kingdom Koinonia moved to its current premises in Geylang, which we named The Upper Room — a space dedicated to worship, prayer, discipleship, and mission. The layout of the Upper Room continues to reflect a house church setting.

Looking Ahead
We believe the journey of Kingdom Koinonia is still unfolding. God is leading us into places “we have not walked before”, and we follow Him — the pillar of cloud by day and fire by night — with faith and joy.
Our story is not about a new organisation, but a renewed obedience to Christ’s call to build His Church, His way, for His glory.

At Kingdom Koinonia, our people are more than members—they are a family united by faith, love, and purpose.
From the very beginning, our community has been shaped by a shared commitment to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33), live by His Word, and demonstrate His love in action.
Each person contributes uniquely—through prayer, giving, service, and mission. Our members embody our core values:
faith in God, obedience, generosity, humility, and a heart for mission.
Kingdom Koinonia is not just a church—it is a living expression of God’s Kingdom, powered by the Holy Spirit and bound together by love. Our people are the reflection of God’s heart and the vehicle through which His mission flows into the world.
